Travel Vaccine Requirements by Region

Before international travel, the CDC and WHO recommend specific vaccines depending on your destination, travel style, and personal health history. This article provides a regional reference table to help you identify which vaccines to discuss with your travel medicine provider.

Important: This table is a general reference only. Requirements and recommendations change frequently. Always check the CDC Traveler's Health site for the most current destination-specific guidance and consult a travel medicine specialist or your GP before departure.

How to Use This Reference in VitalSync

  • Review the table below for your destination region.
  • Open VitalSync → RemindersImmunizations and check which recommended vaccines you have already logged.
  • For any missing vaccines, tap + Add Vaccine to log them after receiving them.
  • Set a Next Dose Reminder for any multi-dose series (e.g., Hepatitis A, Typhoid booster).
  • Use Share Record to generate a mini-PDF of any required vaccine for border control or airline submission.

    Routine Vaccines (All Destinations)

Regardless of destination, the CDC recommends ensuring these routine vaccines are up to date before any international travel:

    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
    • Flu (annual)
    • COVID-19 (current booster)
    • Varicella (Chickenpox) if not immune
    • Pneumococcal (for adults 65+ or at-risk groups)

Official Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card)

Some countries require an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), also known as the Yellow Card, for Yellow Fever. This official document must be issued and stamped by an authorised vaccination centre — it cannot be generated by VitalSync.

The VitalSync Single Vaccine Record mini-PDF is a personal health record and is not a substitute for an official ICVP. Use it for personal reference and to share with your travel medicine provider.
