Sleep efficiency is the percentage of time in bed that you are actually asleep.
Formula
Sleep Efficiency = (Time Asleep ÷ Time in Bed) × 100Benchmarks
| Score | Interpretation |
| 85–100% | Excellent |
| 75–84% | Good |
| 65–74% | Fair — consider sleep hygiene improvements |
| < 65% | Poor — consider consulting a sleep specialist |
Improving Your Score
- Maintain a consistent sleep and wake time
- Avoid screens 30–60 minutes before bed
- Keep your bedroom cool (16–19°C / 60–67°F)
- Limit caffeine after 2 PM
- Avoid alcohol within 3 hours of bedtime
