Notifications Not Arriving

Troubleshooting guide for VitalSync reminders that are not firing, arriving late, or disappearing from the notification centre.

Notifications Not Arriving

If your VitalSync reminders are not appearing on your lock screen or notification centre, work through the following checklist.

Step 1 — Check iOS Notification Permission

  • Open Settings > VitalSync > Notifications.
  • Confirm Allow Notifications is toggled on.
  • Confirm Lock Screen and Banners are enabled.
  • Step 2 — Check Focus / Do Not Disturb

  • Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Centre.
  • If a Focus mode is active, tap it to disable it, or add VitalSync to the allowed apps list.
  • Step 3 -- Check the Reminder Is Saved Correctly

  • Open VitalSync and navigate to the Medications or Smart Reminders tab.
  • Tap the item whose reminder is not firing.
  • Confirm the reminder time is set and the toggle is on.
  • Delete and re-add the reminder if it appears misconfigured.
  • Step 4 -- Restart VitalSync

    Force-quit VitalSync (swipe up from the home bar and swipe the app card away), then reopen it. Local notification schedules are re-registered on launch.

    Step 5 -- Check Available Notification Slots

    iOS limits apps to 64 scheduled local notifications at a time. If you have a large number of medications and reminders, some may be dropped. Reduce the number of active reminders or consolidate dose times.

    Step 6 -- Update iOS and VitalSync

    Ensure both iOS and VitalSync are updated to the latest version. Notification delivery bugs are often fixed in point releases.
