Logging a Glucose Reading

VitalSync lets you log glucose readings manually at any time — no connected device required. Readings are stored on your device and feed directly into the NeoVital graph on your Dashboard.

Step-by-Step

  • Open VitalSync and tap the Blood Sugar tab.
  • Tap the + Log Reading button (bottom of the screen).
  • Enter your glucose value using the numeric keypad.
  • Select your unit — mg/dL or mmol/L (set your default in Settings > Units).
  • Choose a reading type:
  • TypeWhen to Use

FastingFirst reading of the day, before eating or drinking anything except water
    Pre-Meal15–30 minutes before a meal
Post-Meal (1 hr)1 hour after the first bite of a meal
Post-Meal (2 hr)2 hours after the first bite of a meal — the standard clinical check
    BedtimeLast reading before sleep
RandomAny time outside the above contexts

  • Confirm the date and time (defaults to now; tap to adjust if logging retroactively).
  • Add an optional note (e.g., "after exercise", "high-carb meal").
  • Tap Save.
  • Where Your Reading Appears

    • Blood Sugar tab — listed in reverse chronological order with reading type badge and colour-coded value (green for in-range, amber for borderline, red for out-of-range based on your personal targets)
    • NeoVital graph — the Blood Glucose line updates immediately with your new data point
    • Projected A1C — the rolling 90-day average recalculates automatically

    Setting Your Target Range

Go to Settings > Health Targets > Blood Sugar to set your personal fasting and post-meal target ranges. These targets determine the colour coding on each logged entry and the reference band on the NeoVital graph.

Clinical reference: The American Diabetes Association recommends a post-meal (2-hour) target of < 180 mg/dL (< 10.0 mmol/L) for most adults with diabetes. Always follow the targets set by your own healthcare provider.

    Editing or Deleting a Reading

Tap any entry in the Blood Sugar tab to open it, then tap Edit (pencil icon) or swipe left and tap Delete.
