Logging a Meal

VitalSync offers three ways to log meals: manual entry, Apple Vision food scan, and barcode scan.

Manual Entry

  • Tap LogNutrition.
  • Tap + Add Meal.
  • Enter the food name and nutritional values (calories, protein, carbs, fat) and minerals (sodium, potassium).
  • Tap Save.
  • Apple Vision Food Scan

  • Tap the Camera icon in the Nutrition Log.
  • Point your camera at a food label, meal, or packaged food.
  • VitalSync's on-device scanner extracts nutritional information automatically.
  • Review the pre-filled values, adjust if needed, and tap Save.
  • Vision-estimated fields are highlighted with a blue border and labelled "VISION ESTIMATED" so you always know which values were inferred.

    Barcode Scan

  • Tap the Barcode icon.
  • Scan the barcode on a packaged food item.
  • VitalSync identifies the product and pre-fills nutritional data.
  • Tap Save.
  • Voice Entry (Voice Scribe)

Press and hold the microphone button and say:

"I had 200g of grilled chicken with 150g of brown rice for lunch."

VitalSync will parse the entry and pre-fill the form.
