Logging Blood Sugar

VitalSync supports manual blood glucose logging, Bluetooth glucometer pairing, and automatic import from Dexcom and other CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) devices via Apple Health.

Manual Entry

  • Tap LogBlood Sugar.
  • Enter your glucose reading (mg/dL or mmol/L — set in Settings → Units).
  • Select the context: Fasting, Before Meal, After Meal (1h), After Meal (2h), or Bedtime.
  • Tap Save.
  • Dexcom & CGM Import via Apple Health

If you use a Dexcom G6, G7, or any other CGM that writes to Apple Health, VitalSync automatically imports your continuous glucose readings.

  • Ensure your CGM app (e.g., Dexcom G7, Dexcom Clarity) is connected to Apple Health.
  • - Open the Dexcom app → Settings → Connected Apps → Apple Health → Enable Blood Glucose.

  • In VitalSync, go to Settings → Health Permissions and ensure Blood Glucose is toggled on.
  • Tap Force Sync on the Dashboard to pull the latest CGM readings immediately.
  • Once connected, VitalSync displays your CGM readings alongside manually logged entries, with a CGM source label so you can distinguish them.

    Bluetooth Glucometer Sync

VitalSync also supports traditional Bluetooth glucometer pairing via Settings → Devices → Add Device. Once paired, readings sync automatically.
