Apple Vision Food Scanning
VitalSync uses Apple Vision to scan your plate or food label in real time, then searches the USDA FoodData Central database to retrieve verified nutritional data. Logged values are automatically checked against your preferred diet profile (DASH, Mediterranean, Low-Carb, and more).
How It Works
Tips for Best Results
- Ensure the food label is well-lit and in focus.
- For restaurant meals, photograph the entire plate from directly above.
- For packaged foods, the barcode scan mode is generally more accurate than photo scanning.
Confidence Levels
After a barcode scan, VitalSync shows a product verification card with the product name and scan confidence level. If confidence is low, review the values carefully.
Photo Lightbox
Meal photos are saved with each log entry. Tap any thumbnail in your history to open the full-screen lightbox with pinch-to-zoom and share options.
